Can anyone help me with a problem that I have? I'm not even sure if it is possible.

I have a list box that updates the records on my form as I scroll down it, but I need it to AutoFill (I enter the first few letters and it fills in the rest for the first matching record in the record source) like a combobox does.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

You have run into the reason why there is a combobox and a list box control. The list box's primary design was to supply a small limited pick list. While the combobox was intended to work more like a text box with a selection ability.

This is not to say that it can't be done.

Add a Text box above the list box. Have the list box based off of a query that uses the text box in the "where". Use =Like [txtbox] & "*".

Use the textboxes on change event to requery the ListBoxes rowsource.

Thanks Travis and baguley - this was a great idea that I used myself and it works great!

I was wondering though if, instead of requerying, would it be possible to scroll down or up to the "closest instance of"?

I'll probably leave it the way it is as I have over 2700 records - just curious.

Thanks again,

-Sean
