I notice a statement on one of our forum member's signatures which said something like, "I don't download databases ever". I thought that's probably a safe way of doing things, but I'd find it a lot harder to help some of the posters without looking at their databases.

What I'm doing now is looking over the code for any file operations before I enable the content, but sometime that takes to long. What I'd like is to find some easy way of restricting the write privileges of the download database to a folder I put it in. Actually I be happy with any method that would keep my system safe from attacks. I guess I could create another user with limited privileges and log on as that user, but I'm looking for something without that hassle

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Maybe design a plugin that searched the code for anything that was unsafe.

open databases with the shift key.

I tend to trust downloads from the access forums, I must say.
