This thread relates to an old thread i pasted up early. i am sorry for pasting this thread and not carrying on with the past thread, but I am desparate need of help.

Relating back to the above thread.
i didn't mention that each record has a DATE assigned to it. So what I need to do is lookup the [ReferenceNo] where the inputted [PremiseCode] = [PremiseCode] in the past records. When searching for the referenceNo...It should search in descending order of the date inputted in the present record. So it searches for the last [referenceno] that used the same [PremiseCode] going down in date.....and then displaying the [referenceno].
PLEASE HELP....AS I AM VERY DESPARATE...
