make a new xls-file

Hi,
I am allowing the user to make an export of some tables to excel,
With some help I can now open a saveFileDialog which returns a path and a filename.
I can also transfer tables to an excel-file

But, how do you create the file itself to transfer to? or is it done automatically with the export?

Use the TransferSpreadsheet method to export a table or query to an Excel file. You should choose the name of the file in your code but let the user browse and select where they want the file to go.

The docmd.outputto command will probably do the job.

Just one more question, is it possible to make a new document empty from within access somewhere on the harddrive?

Like when you would right mouseclick in the directory and choose new->Microsoft Excel Worksheet
