I attached a pic of what I found I could do in my Excel for office 07.

There are 1048576 usable rows and 13600 and some usable columns. anyone ever seen this before?? Apparently when you first create an excel workbook, these are the dimensions but on all subsequent openings of the document, it is trimmed to 65535 by 256.

Anyone have an explanation of why it does this?

Sounds like you are saving as xls.

65, 535 rows by 256 columns is the limit on an xls (Excel 2003) file.

On 2007+ (xlsx) it is 1,048,576 by 16,384

oh ok, thanks!. didnt know it changed with file type
