funny, when I heard this on the radio the other day you were the first thing I thought of.

Hardly a major breakthrough in the understanding of the the Universe. More like a lead to new questions that need to be asked than "understanding" anything new.

Nor would it "turn physics on its head" as suggested in the article. If it pans out then it might make physics walk a little funny for a while but unlikely to "overturn" it.
