I know there are other aussies out there reading this forum. This year our office did the usual spreadsheet to track our (several) office sweeps in the Melbourne Cup. (For those who aren't aussie, that's our biggest annual horse race, and it "stops the nation" for a few minutes on the first Tuesday of each November).
Does anyone already have a database suitable for this purpose ? Next year I want to be ready with something better - 'cause the spreadsheet was a mess! I thought it may also be a good exercise; so I've begun thinking about table structure and decided to extend the concept to be useable for more than just the one race, and more than just the one racetrack, as it might be more useful to more people that way.
Anyway, below are the tables/relationships, as I see them at first thought, but would welcome comments sugestions from others, or even a DB if you're happy to share.
