I have run into a very strange error, and searched the forum and didn't see anything posted about "appearance, settings".
I created an 2003 MS Access database, on a Windows XP machine, that connects to a SQL back-end using a File DSN connection. It works great.
Then when I had our testing department test it, it looked incorrect. When I opened the same file, it looked fine. We tested around, and found the issue was in fact the different back ground setting.
My appearance is set to "Windows Classic style", and the testers was set to "Windows XP style". Once the tester changed their style to "Windows Classic style", the database appeared correctly for him.
The most noticible differenences was...
On a large tab control I added, I set the back-ground to "Transparent" so the tabs would match the color of the main form (a light blue). On the XP setting, it sets the tabs to "gray", even though the setting is correct and the form is not gray (still light blue).
And then the text fields would refresh quickly (looked like they were flashing) for no reason at all, with the XP setting.
Has anyone run into this error, and if so, is there anything that can be done to fix it?
Let me know, and thank you for your help!
