I recently came across an article that said Biden is considering compensating illegal immigrants $450,000 per child due to Trump's zero tolerance policy at the border during the last administration. They said the average may turn out to be $1,000,000 compensation per family.

Is this political posturing to say what a bad fellow Trump was, or do these criminals deserve to become millionaires funded by US taxpayers as a direct consequence of breaking the laws? Is this an example of "crime pays"?

I know the left doesn't believe it but this is not actually Trump's doing. He was simply enforcing EXISTING law as the Executive Branch is charged with doing. There was no way he could have envisioned the stupidity, willful or otherwise of the civil servants implementing the policy. For all we know there is a hidden list that accurately maps children to parents and the "losing" of children was intentionally intended to make Trump look bad.

I do sympathize with the parents who lost touch with their children but not that much. They are the ones who put the children in harms way and the parents should probably be prosecuted for child endangerment for bringing the children across the border illegally to begin with.

The lunatic left keeps encouraging foreign nationals to break our laws and then reward illegal behavior with cash payments 🙄

I am not surprised at your opinion piece designed to attack Trump. Apparently your search engine doesn't actually find laws. Maybe if Congress hadn't passed a "feeling and kind" law requiring families to be separated because it was cruel to keep the children imprisoned with the criminal parents, the situation would never had occurred.

However, neither the 1997 Flores settlement nor a 2008 human trafficking law cited in that release in any way stipulated that the government separate children from their parents:
Was the 'Law to Separate Families' Passed in 1997 or 'by Democrats'? | Snopes.com
This is the way fact "checking" works. You turn the phrase just a little to imply a different meaning. The law does NOT "stipulate" that minors must be separated from adults at the border. So technically, the fact "check" is accurate. The law does however, say they should confined in the "least restrictive" facility that is consistent with its interests and age. And that was what the lawsuit was all about. If the adult is to be confined, there is a limit to the amount of time the child may be confined with him. There is a shortage of family quarters at the borders and when children are bought or rented so that an unrelated person can obtain family status, having adequate space to hold the actual families becomes even more of a problem. So, if there is no room for family status quarters, then the children MUST be separated from the parents. This is the left having it both ways. Restrict the amount of space for families to be housed as a unit so you can force ICE to release everyone rather than confine them even though the law says they should be confined and statistics say they rarely show up for their hearing. Once released from detention, they have passed go and can now start collecting from our welfare system.

After the September 11 attacks, ICE began to tighten its “catch and release” policy for all apprehended unauthorized immigrants, including family units, citing their failure to appear in court and concerns that adults were renting or taking children to pass off as a “family.” Due to lack of space, ICE began detaining parents while transferring children to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement, which is common practice for unaccompanied children.

I remember Trump being asked about this. He practically BEGGED Congress to change the law. He issued executive orders to delay implementation. But ho got nothing from Congress. No matter what any liberal says, Trump was stuck with his oath of office, to carry out the laws of the land - in this case regarding illegal aliens.

Trump showed his dislike for immigrants(not only illegal immigrants) , using different phrases when an immigrant committed a crime and when a non-immigrant committed a crime.

And Biden shows at least an equally if not drastically increased dislike for legally present Americans by allowing a quarter million people completely untested and unvetted and unqualified in any way, to arrive and be released on their own recognizance, monthly.

Combine that with Democrat places like New York that are now giving non-citizens the right to vote and you can figure out for yourself what the strategy there is.

Far more subversive, illegal and dangerous than any derogatory term Trump ever used.

I think in this regard biden is wrong, proper vetting should be done before releasing any immigrant into the community.

Compare what Trump said about people entering the USA illegally to what Joe and Hillary said about POC back in the day.

Joe Biden 1993:
"Unless we do something about that cadre of young people — tens of thousands of them born out of wedlock, without parents, without supervision, without any structure, without any conscious developing — because they literally have not been socialized, they literally have not had an opportunity ... we should focus on them now. If we don't, they will — or a portion of them will — become the predators 15 years from now," Biden said, according to a video recording provided by C-SPAN.

Jan. 31, 2007
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

Hillary Clinton 1996:
"We need to take these people on, they are often connected to big drug cartels, they are not just gangs of kids anymore. They are often the kinds of kids that are called super predators. No conscious, no empathy," Clinton said, according to a video recording provided by C-SPAN.

When Biden or Hillary makes racist comments they are merely gaffes.

Besides the image below the article, consider that Biden, while he was campaigning, blamed every Covid death on Trump:

By that standard, Biden is responsible for every Covid death that has occurred since he was inaugurated. (I fully understand that a President should not be held accountable in this manner, but the media failed to call out Biden for those atrocious lies. Consequently, Biden "won" an election based on lies that the gullible public accepted because the media failed to do its job of exposing Biden's lies.)

If you think Trump is a racist, perhaps you can find the "racist" comments and show them to us in context rather than repeating a talking point. I think your opinion of Trump is racist. Does that make it so?

I think a lot of stuff Trump has said is taken out of context in order to make him look like a monster. It is a narrative designed to win votes for the Democrat party rather than any accurate portrayal of the man. It is just propaganda. @Steve R. in post #14 gives a good example. Trump is a xenophobe because of a travel ban. I remember that well. He is a monster! Biden does the same thing. Biden is great! Saving us all!

The real monsters are those media sociopaths who slur individuals with fake news and truth manipulation, aiming to destroy the innocent. Just look at what happened to Rittenhouse!

However, if someone watches CNN, MSNBC etc., then I do not blame them for believing what they do. Their content is a fog of lies and half-truths, as opposed to just a political angle. It is just simple brainwashing. Then you end up hardwired with a poisonous slant on the world that then colours everything you see.

Consider Trump's "ban on muslims". That was another lie. He banned travel from 5 countries that had a majority of muslims in their population. There were 200M people living in those countries in total. But there are 2 billion muslims on the planet. He didn't ban Indonesia, for example, which has the largest population of muslims on the planet.

If it was a ban on muslims, why did he only ban 10% of the muslim population and let in 90%? That doesn't sound like a muslim ban at all. To any rational person, it is obvious. It is like claiming the Democrats are a white supremacist party because they have a majority membership of whites. The two things are unrelated.

Biden has banned travel from South Africa. Majority black in the country. Does that mean he is now racist? Open your eyes to the propaganda against both Trump and Conservatives.

My suggestion is to watch Fox News. See what the other side is saying. I think the liberal media is full of extremist views designed to sow division and hate, dividing up people down racial, gender and sexual orientation lines. They say Trump is an engine of hate to hide their own hateful agenda. Even Hillary calls Republicans "deplorables" and she was a presidential candidate. It shows her intense dislike for her fellow American.

One last issue. The Democrats found Kavanaugh universally guilty. "Believe the woman!" Yet when Biden has a sexual assault claim against him, instead it is, "Vote for Biden!" Do Democrats not get embarrassed by the blatant hypocrisy or does it happen so much that they are just desensitised to it?

The strategy of these networks is to project a negative view of the world 24/7 and promote socialism as the replacement for democracy. People reject this type of programming and it's reflected in their ratings.

CNN just killed their golden goose, Chris Cuomo. Don Lemon is so unwatchable they needed to give him a 10-minute handoff from Chris otherwise people would tune out immediately.

I think I stopped watching CNN ~ 2005 when they fired Lou Dobbs when he got a little crazy about illegal immigration, probably because his wife is a legal immigrant. I know my friends who are legal immigrants are pretty pi**** off about the current state of affairs and NOTHING CNN says about the border is true.

From your quote of Joe Biden years ago:
Unless we do something about that cadre of young people — tens of thousands of them born out of wedlock, without parents, without supervision, without any structure, without any conscious developing — because they literally have not been socialized, they literally have not had an opportunity ... we should focus on them now. If we don't, they will — or a portion of them will — become the predators 15 years from now," Biden said, according to a video recording provided by C-SPAN.

Wow, I think he said it way better than I've been trying to say it in my last few posts relating to families, two parent households, and doing things the right way that data has shown not doing them leads to most of our current problems!

Absolutely amazing. So this man had a brain once, before it became trendy to pretend that we have forgotten these concepts.
