I replied to a post about this already, but it was in the wrong section.

As you see in the screenshot, I'm having a weird problem.

I have tried re-installing Access but it didn't help. Any ideas?

So... does Word show a list of installed fonts? Or Excel? Or Powerpoint? Let's get out of Office. Can you see font lists in Wordpad or Notepad?

If the problem occurs in other applictions, it is not necessarily an Access issue. In that case, Access was merely the poor schlump that hit the problem first.

Go to the Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Fonts window to see installed fonts. Can you see any fonts? How many are installed?

If Access is the only application with this problem, I agree it is an Access issue. But if you are logged in as an ordinary user and someone has "dinked around" with the permissions in the Fonts folder, it should affect other applications. So first things first. Determine the scope of the problem.

It's just Access, other Office Apps and Notepad, Illustrator etc.. all see the fonts just fine.

Fonts folder has 1593 fonts, and I haven't messed with any of the Permissions either.

This error is really weird.

Talking to Microsoft about it now.. wonder what they will do..

1593 fonts? How many are actually installed? I wonder if Access is running into an overflow of its fonts buffer.

As a wild-eyed experiment, try to reduce the number of installed fonts. Or try to move the uninstalled fonts to a sub-folder at least temporarily.

You might be right, as Microsoft said the same thing.
However, the issue ONLY shows up in that ONE spot. Reports and forms are fine.

As a temporary fix, I have gone into the registry and changed the default font name. So long as I stay out of the options window, it remains whatever I set in there.
