So, I'm broadening my horizons into deploying Access in a way to allow Remote Desktop to our server. I presume that I should be able to allow both remote and local access to the same BE.
Meaning, I can have a local FE (say on my computer) point to a shared BE on our our server. I can also set up virtual desktops on our server (to use via Remote Desktop) that have those FE point to the same shared BE on the server.

I realize there are a lot of nuts and bolts to the actual deployment, but this is a conceptual sanity check.

I think you're sane. ;)

Yes, should work fine.

Just remember that the remote users still need their own copy of the FE. I use a batch file run from a shortcut that copies the FE to their personal folder on the desktop.

We are long overdue for a new physical server so it does provide an opportunity to configure the new one with the RDS licenses and to manage two virtual servers (our domain/file server and our Access/remote server).
