Ok here is my problem.
I am building a training matrix for the company I work for. We use an Excel spreadsheet and a plotter to show who is overdue in some training areas. Besides Number,Name,Position,Crew, and Department The rest of the data is just Dates. Now on the Spreadsheet there is some blank areas for promotions and new hires. The spreadsheet is in order from top to bottom by position.
My access database allows the Safty/Training guy/gal to find and make reports by selecting dropdown boxes like Crew, Department, Position. Then they can select individuals and see their data from a listbox. I have everything done except I can't figgure out how to promote by moving all information for an individual Minus the Number and the Position and put it in a new record that already has the promoted Position in it and already has a number. As I said above the positions cant change because they are in order in excel and the numbers cant change either because they are in order also. I have tried several things and no luck yet. Maybe someone can help me out there.
Is there any more info I can give?
