Hi yes there is a one-to-one relationship - not ideal i know is that causing the problem

i deleted the relationship and it all works an absolute treat - thank you very much for your persistence and for teaching me a thing or two about using VB and SQL in Access........

In answer to your questions,

Yes I'm having a pretty good day today, having one of those days where I am in a really good mood for no apparent reason.

I work as a SQL server database administrator, not the most interesting of jobs, but hey it pays well

What do you do?

If you need more advice I can give you my email address if you like, it will save having to log on to this thing everytime.

Hi cool job - i'm just starting out as you have probably guessed - i finished a computing degree last year and i am now working on an IT helpdesk - not as grand a job as yours but its a good start for me as i have no IT experience in industry and theres room for moving at my place to different IT departments, i.e. development and networking and maybe some project work

i would appreciate your e-mail address and thanks for the offer of advice from time to time and i promise not to stalk you!!!

and yes that was a mission - thats the very hard part over now to get on with the rest of it
