I have an Access 2003 application which has many reports.

When I am using 2003 and in the report view, right clicking the mouse is giving me an options "export" where I can export the report to Excel, DBF, CSV etc.,

But this feature is not available when I try my application using Access 2007

Any help please?

Yes, this is a feature. They removed the Export to Excel feature in Access 2007. You can still use the Excel COM Object model to do the export, but it will take more coding.

I goofed. The EXPORT TO EXCEL is still there. I just saw it. It is on the ribbon EXTERNAL DATA > EXPORT.

Can't export REPORT directly into Excel

Hi,
I'm having the same issue as the other developer. In Access 2003, you could push a report directly into Excel, but in 2007, this option is not available for REPORTs. It is available for Queries, Tables and Forms, but not for reports.

Here's another forum where people are expressing concern about this issue, but the 'workaround' is to go to Word first, which does not produce a correctly aligned report for complex reports.

Can anyone help? I really appreciate it!

Thanks, Mirby

You probably saw that when you were in a form or query. See the MS support page "You cannot export a report to an Excel format in Access 2007".

They offer two workarounds. One is to export from the underlying query, and the second is to export to something else like Word. Neither solution is very useful. The problem I have in using the query instead of the report is that I lose all the subtotals and totals.

Maybe someone will come up with a third party solution to this.
