Sorry but I can't see where or how to seek help with this.
My forum replies from both my Android phone and pc are being refused as spam et al

Were there any links in the replies you tried to post? If so, just as a test, try removing them.

Hello, Nick. I'm another one of the moderators, like theDBguy. I used a forum tool that checks on IP addresses. Your IP address is NOT on any of the black-listed sites so that isn't the source of the problem.

Did you get a spam notice on the post that starts this thread? Because normally, if you fall into the spam category, there is nothing with which we can interact in the first place. Spam messages get bounced into a special category. Since I frequently (but not exclusively) handle the category of spam interceptions, I'll keep watch for your name. But I will also say that I have never "spammed out" a post for which the IP addresses and the language were both clean.

You have made 12 posts - you will need to make another 88 before you can post links 😖

True, Dave, but that doesn't report back as spam, does it? I don't know because I'm way over the limit myself.

@NickCoe(UK) - if this problem continues, please consider that you successfully posted above. Check the message you tried to send BUT FAILED to see if it had links in it. Another issue is that your username contains parentheses, which normally are not considered proper for login names. Since our forum server is UNIX-based, it may have different username rules, but I know that name would not work right in Windows.

If we can't find any OTHER cause for this problem, consider changing your name to something similar like NickCoe_UK - that's an underscore in the name - which I can tell you will work quite well. Don't do it now, but if nothing else shows up, try getting rid of the parentheses.

When I reply a post, it always show this message

Oops! We ran into some problems.

OK, David... I don't get that message and haven't EVER gotten it since we were on the XenForo platform except when there was something wrong with the forum itself - which DID happen a few times right after the change away from vBulletin. I chalked that up to growing pains.

No. But prior to replies getting the 'Oops! blah blah' message I had screwed up adding some screenshot png's a few times. I wonder if that repetition triggered something...
I will change my user name in due course. Shame really, it's what I used to use historically on Compuserve and other Access fora and lists.

And this morning replying to IslaDogs with this I got the 'Oops!...' again:

Understood. I hadn't twigged that could happen when replying to a post that contains links. Makes sense now :)
I expect the same would happen if you tried to post a link within quotes?
Perhaps the software is not aware of a successful post with a link and just inspects the content. Would have to be pretty clever to do so, I would have thought?

Yes, the forum plugin that spots links to prevent spam is a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut!

To us users, a link quoted within a post should be OK, especially since you didn't add it explicitly yourself, but that would require a bit more programming, and is a situation that the developer probably didn't envisage ...

... not too unlike many of the problems people are coming here to post about, so we should probably cut the developer some slack!

I wonder whether any quote created by using the Reply or Quote buttons will trigger the spam blocker even if the quoted text doesn't contain a link, since quote blocks in themselves are often links back to the original post ?

Easy for @NickCoe(UK) to test. :)

If you are satisfied that the problem is replying to something that brings in a link, don't bother to change your name, particularly if you have some history with it. My own screen name is now more than 20 years old and I know how attached I have gotten to it.

Something you might do to minimize the problem in the interim is do a selective cut/paste of a post and reply to the cut section. That would avoid dragging in an embedded or signature-section link.
