I am starting a new database today at work. I need some suggestions.

First of all, we will be having people enter data into many sections of the database at the same time...should I create seperate databases for these sections and link them together somehow so that it doesnt freak out with multiple users or being saved while open in different computer on the server?

Will it freak out anyways? What happens exactly if you open same database on two different computers.

Next, I would like to know if anyone has any further ideas about creating this database the right way in a server setting with multiple users!

Thanks.

The proper way would be to split the database into a Front End and Back End. The Back End should be stored on the Server and the Front End on the clients PC.

Oh boy! Thats a good idea...Ive heard of that but never done it...I will need to learn more about that.

You know of any locations that would teach that info to me?

Search the forum for Front End and Back End. Basically all your tables will be in the back end and linked to the Front End which will contain the queries, forms, and reports.

Ok. So I understand that. How do I create the front and back end. I read something about database splitter do it...is that right? Or should I use the link database thing?

I need guidence on doing this please...how do I set this up on the server and local? All I can do is put files on our servers hard drive, would I need to talk to the IT department about something?

Thanks for more information to get me going!!!:)
