*It's ok - I've sorted it now. Thanks*
Hi, I've been struggling to make the form I need and was hoping for some advice. I'm a beginner using access 2007 and I'm trying to make a database for a college library (not a real one yet, thank god).
I have two tables one containing info on books (called 'Book Info' with fields TitleNum, Title, Edition, PubDate, Publisher and Author) and one containing stock details (called 'Book Stock' with fields BookNum, TitleNum, Case, Shelf and [In Stock?]). The TitleNum fields are related one-to-many.
I'm looking to make a single form where a new book can be detailed completely, but where processes/entries that would be meaningless to the user are automated.
BookNum (primary key for Book Stock) is an autonumber, as is TitleNum in Book Info. I would like for the TitleNum to be automatically entered in Book Stock so that the user needs only to enter the case and shelf where the book will be kept (In Stock? is default Yes anyway).
I've already spent a few hours trying things that seem like they should work but don't so any tips would be a massive help.
Thanks a lot,
chin chin.
