Hi, I just can't work this bit out. I am copying a description to another field but I want to add the word FastTrack - to it so that I end up with FastTrack - <whatever the description is>, I have included the code, can you tell me where I need to put the bit FastTrack - and whether I need " or ( or [
Thanks
Me.Enquiry_Desc = [Forms]![Frm_edit_Enquiry]![Enquiry_Description]

Me.Enquiry_Desc = "FastTrack - " & [Forms]![Frm_edit_Enquiry]![Enquiry_Description]

Thank you very much

Would you mind telling me when or what the difference is for using the " or ( or [, many times I have sat here trying one or the other etc till the design works the way I want it to. Thanks again for such a quick response

Strings need to be surrounded (delimited) with some chatacter that is *not* in the string. In VBA we use either single quote ' or double quote "; usually the double quote "Your String". Parens () and brackets [] have other uses in VBA and it can get involved when describing their use. The Access help might be a place to look for a description. Picking up a good book on Access and VBA is another avenue you could persue.

Okay, well thanks again, this worked a treat so can be closed or whatever you do. Bye

You're welcome and thanks for stopping by. Post again when you need some assistance.
