Negative Response on the Query of a Boolean Field

I've created a query to count and display the number of "yes" check marks in a field.

There happens to be 20 of those marks but in the results it displays "-20".

Can anyone explain to me how to correct that? There is no default setting, neither yes nor no, in the field properties setting in the table.

Abs(Sum([YesNoField]))

or simply
-Sum([YesNoField])


If you build the Totals Query in query Design View, choose Expression in the Total: row.

The field label is "Casualties" and I did build the query in the design view.

After I select "expression" in the totals row, where do I enter the expression?

MyFieldName: Abs(Sum([Casualties]))
