Network or Internet up/down

Hi,
Can some1 tell me how to check the network or internet status (Pinging or smth else) and automatically (or by clicking a buton) fill a text Box with the message "Network is down" or "Network is Ok".

don't know about testing a network exactly, but after opening a connection (cn.open) you can test the state:
'Determine if we are actually connected. 1 = Connected.
Debug.Print cn.state

thnx wazz ... all I need is to check if the gprs is connected in a laptop.
