New fields from existing data

I have field1 containing the following:
X400:c=US;a= ;p=DCF;o=REGION1;s=MBAKSAY;%SMTP:fname.lname@PO.STATE.CT.US

I need to be able to create a new field2 which will always contain the information between the ";%" and the ".US".

Help..please.
