new reord but dont clear all fields

In one of my forms I am presently using the standard cmdbutton(created by the access wizard) to enter new records in a form.Once pressed it clears all the fields including a combo box with project ID values this makes the user have to select the project id again, I dont want this field to be cleared, can this be done? if so how, thanks you in advance for your help.

The fields aren't 'cleared' as you are looking at a new record and the fields are empty. Anyway, if your ProjectID is a number that is the bound column of the combo box try this code in the On Current event of the form:

If Me.NewRecord Then
Me.ComboBoxName = 3
End if

Put in the number of the ID that you want to display... If the ProjectID is the Primary Key it won't work.
