Hey all,

I'm attempting to create a database and a little help :)

I understand how to create tables, PKs, FKs etc. However, in the past I have used Access's Lookup Function to enable me to populate the tables with data in a datasheet view. I've read (and been told) that this is not ideal. Can anyone please let me know how, in general, people create records across more than 1 table?

I think I'm having trouble adjusting my thinking of to create records that link with another table (for example, tblCustomers and tblOrders).

Any help would be fantastic!

I would tend to use forms and subforms (subform for the other tables within the main form), it might also be useful to make sure the forms are in data entry mode which you can find on the properties sheet of the form (the data tab, select yes for data entry mode)

hope this helps

Many thanks for your answer rodmc. I'll use forms/subforms!
