I was thinking of starting with Howdy, Ya'll since I am from Texas, USA. But that would be too easy.
I am an Electrical Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry. I started using Access because of a P&ID CAD program that we have. I liked what I saw. Then when AutoCad Electrical started using Access, I started wondering why we could not take our Instrument Indexes and I/O lists that are in Excel, import the old ones into Access and use that as a way to create an Access database template that we can use on all of our jobs.
Well, it seemed easy. It seemed logical. I just didn't realize all of the different things that Access could do. I am learning. This forum has been an incredible source of learning. I read somewhere in here that (to summarize) No matter what you can think of to do in Access, someone else has probably already done it. So, I will keep looking through the forums and maybe throw in a question here and there.
