I'm new here.

I took an Access class offered through work on the basics about 13 years ago. It did me little good, until I found myself in a position of having to work on (read: usually fix) a db created by a coworker who shortly thereafter would leave the company and become completely unable to be reached for help or advice. So all of my Access knowledge is basically self-taught- via an idea, an internet search, manipulating someone else's code or idea to fit my needs, and thanking them profusely. Seems like I'll fit in well around here. :D

I can manipulate code and know just enough to be dangerous, but I can't write it or understand the more complex stuff. IF and WHEN it works for me, I can typically stare at the letters and symbols long enough to make some sense of why it works, but when it doesn't work, I wouldn't have the first idea of where to start to tell you why.

Still, what I do know makes me a genius to my new coworkers who have zero experience in Access or VBA.

You might be surprised that the "mo" in my user id stands for Monique. Tattooed biker chick by weekend, buttoned up office administrator by weekday. ;)

I'm also in college for the second time in my life, having worked for a major airline for 15 years, which was recently absorbed by another major airline. Yep, I'm almost 40 and completely changing careers, now working on a Bachelor's in marketing (after having dropped out of community college 16 years ago). Which probably puts me in the same boat as a lot of you!!
