Not in list.

I have 3 tables:

materialcategory
materialsubcategory
materialdate

they are connected each other with one to many relasioships

I have created a form in order to add new materials and which has 2 comboboxes

combocategory
combosubcategory

and a subform materialdata

When I choose category then it limits the items of the second combo and when I choose in the secord it brings me the records they are related to it in the subform.

I have found out how to add an item that is not in the list of the first combo
but I don't know how to do it with the second combo since as I understand the programme should know where to go and write the new recond because the the records of the two combos are related.

Please help.

what have you tried? are you getting an error message when you try to enter the new value in the second combo? What's the primary key of the underlying table? Is the data in the second column from a table on the many side of a relationship?

Answering these will probably give you the light bulb you need to discover the answer...
