NZ() Formatting

In forms and reports when using NZ() to sum a set of fields it refuses to accept the assigned formating such as Currency. The property format field shows Currency but the data displays unformated. I had to create another field and set it to the NZ summed field in order to get Currency displayed on the form and report.
