Hi there,

I have just updated my laptop to Vista from XP and now Access programs that used to work are behaving oddly.

I have a main form, with buttons on, that would call my forms but now when I click on the buttons no event fires, I just stay on the same form.

Another DB had a form with buttons on but now the buttons are not showing.

I can run the forms fine if I am in design mode and the Access DB's run fine on other PC's which have Windows 7 on them.

Has anyone come across this before? Could there be something missing in Vista.
I have tried re-installing Access but still get the same issues.

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,

Tony, I think it is likely to be the second possibility based on my own experiences when we had an Office update. I've seen the first phenomenon only once. However, I might consider that some references could also be broken, which prevents the code from running normally. Or at all.

Mr. "Learning" - open a code window, then click Tools then References. Scroll through the checked references to see if any of them are suddenly "not found." If so, you got caught in one of two ways - oddly enough, related to Tony's suggestion about changing locations in one case. When you change versions of Windows, some of the referenced libraries can possibly change versions. Also, some of those libraries might change locations, and the "References" list is linked to include directory names. If your libraries really still exist but have changed locations, a "Browse" will perhaps help you find them.
