Was wondering if there was a way for the admins to get rid of old data on the forum. I'm finding alot of irrelevant things from years ago.

Thanks.

Not really going to endear yourself with existing members, coming on and your first post is to complain? :(

Hi. Welcome to AWF!

Not sure why we would want to. Many people are still using very old versions of Access.

And old posts are often still relevant to current applications

What would you define as ‘old’? You can exclude older (by age) posts using the advanced search

There are probably some items we could purge - and with the new British law relating to "safe web sites" we might have to dump some things. But when someone searches for a specific help topic, a lot of those old entries show up. Because sometimes a problem is new to someone but not new to the world of Access.

The similar threads section at the bottom is generally a waste of time (see the similars at the bottom of this thread as an example)

But using the advanced search can be effective if you know what you are searching for and know how to search - same as googling
