open hyperlink on internal server

I have several hyperlinks linked to an excel file on an internal company server.

The problem is this.

I can open and view the first hyperlink I click on with no problem. However, after I close the new window and click on a second hyperlink, the new window freezes up and won't display it's appropriate page. Instead the current view of Access is imprinted in the new window. The database also locks up and will not unlock until the new window is closed.

Only if I close Access and start again can I open a new window.

This only occurs with the links that are on the internal server. If I try to open Google, it opens perfectly every time.

Any ideas???
