passing ID Number to another form

i have two forms. one is the main form and there i put button that opened another form.
when i open the second form i want to link the ID number from the main form to the second form so i wont have to insert the number each time i am opening it.

Look up the docmd.openform statement in the help. You can use either the "where" clause, "Filter" clause or the Openargs to pass the ID.

The openargs you can then retrieve using me.openargs in the second form.

Or alternatively you can "simply" read the id off the first form using Forms("FirstFormName")!IDFieldName
