i have a crosstab query which some of the fields get their value from Forms. Therefore in the criteria section of the fields in the query i set [Forms]![Formname]![ControlName]. Also i went into the Query -> Parameters and declared the parameters their as well. So far so good.

Now when i go to create a report via the wizard when i select the crosstab query above, i do not see its fields in the available section of the wizard dialog to select which fields to display in the report.

Why this happens ?

Thank you!

is the form open with the parameters entered at the time?

no the form was closed. However, now i tried opening as well, but still i did not see the fields in the available fields section when running the report wizard!

i can't understand what i am doing wrong.

attached is a small example of what is giving me the problem. the table/query/form are created just to describe my problem.

try creating a report via the wizard and see that when you select query1, you do not see it's fields in the available fields section.

I am aware that it must be something simple, but i really cannot get to it!

Thanks in advance!

unless it's a 97ver I can't open it, but why not just enter dummy criteria directly into the query first?

if in the criteria i enter something such as "blabla" it works ... the problem is when i put parameters instead such as [form]![formname]![controlname]

i've tried to convert to 97 format, i hope you can view it now!

Thanks!

it's much easier to use the PK and pass that as the parameter, look at qryCross and form 1.
You'll have to use the wizard just to create a blank new report and drag the fields onto it yourself

thx for your tip ... that way it works!

However, does this mean, that when using parameters in a crosstab query, it is not possible to create a report via the wizard in the "normal" way ?

Thanks!
