PivotChart series labels magically disappear

I have a PivotChart (as a form in PivotChart view) that I formatted to have the series label show in the chart (which is easier for the end-user to evaluate in a pie chart if they can see the number each piece represents). The problem is that when a piece of data in the chart goes to zero (or started at zero) and later a value is assigned to the data, the label will disappear (or never be assigned). All of the other labels will remain. It is only when the the piece of the pie didn't exist and now has data to be represented that this occurs.

Hopefully Microsoft has a fix for this or there is some code that can work around this. I've search the web and Mircrosoft's site but couldn't fin anything. Does anyone have any ideas?
