As I am still researching, I wanted opinions about a theory/idea that my company is trying to move forward with.
We have a 2003 MS Access database in which they want to make into a web database. They would like to also implement SQL Server has a holding ground for other locations. The main goal is to track employee numbers through a series of reports that managers at these locations would enter.
My questions:
I thought a web database is along the same lines as the SQL Server?
If going to web database, would the old database need to be redeveloped to be web-enabled? Don’t you loose functionality then?
The company wants total control of the information so using a cloud based storage is out. Any ideas?
