I have been using Power BI to do my visualizations of my data for management. The problem I have run into is our companies report writer does not give us the ability to name the file it exports when it is scheduled. This has thrown a wrench into my plans to have the data be updated automatically on a daily schedule.
Would anyone happen to know if Power BI has the ability to dynamically change its data source for specific tables to the most recent file? If not, would anyone know how to create maybe a batch file to rename a file when it appears in a folder then move it to another folder causing it to overwrite the existing?
An example of my file name is ReportWriter_ReportName_mmddyyhhmmss.xlsx. If I can remove that time stamp to make the file name ReportWriter_ReportName then move it, that would work.
