i have a form that users fill out and then click on print

i need the print action to print out 3 copys od the same data

the only difference being a title in the top left hand corner

everything else is exactly the same!

i have made the reports for the copys all seperate.

i have simply done this by saving the original report as a new one with a different name and changing the title in design view!

problem being how do i get my print button to print all 3 reports using the one record from the form. (the forms bound to a table thats where i am getting the data for the reports from)??

Thanxs in advance!:)

Hi Lyns

One way to do it is have a macro to print the 3 reports one after the other.

Bet its not as simple as that though

Col

never is eh.....

hope you are ok!:)

Lyns I reckon you could do this by only using the one report if all you are changing is the heading then you can maybe add some code or something telling it to print 3 copies with different headings I am not too sure of the code by I would say chances are it's achievable and it's a waste of space having 3 reports with the same data.

I'll look into this for you and let you know If I come up with a solution.

It is possible to use 1 report for 3 prints with different titles.

1. Create a text box on your form (hidden if you want)

2. Create a Print button and paste the following procedure :

Private Sub btn_Print_Click()
Me.ReportTitle = "1"
DoCmd.OpenReport "ReportName", acViewNormal

Me.ReportTitle = "2"
DoCmd.OpenReport "ReportName", acViewNormal
End Sub

3. Create a text box on the Report to be used as a title and

4. Set the Control Source of the report title text box to "=[Forms]![FormName]![ReportTitle]"

Private Sub PrintART3copys_Click()
Me.ReportTitle = "Pharmacy Copy"
DoCmd.OpenReport "ART", acViewNormal

Me.ReportTitle = "Case Notes Copy"
DoCmd.OpenReport "ART", acViewNormal

Me.ReportTitle = "GP Copy"
DoCmd.OpenReport "ART", acViewNormal

End Sub

i did this and it didnt work! i called my text box on my form ReportTitle the name of my actual report is ART i take it i have done something wrong as i get a run time error ' 438' object doesnt support this property or method!

Hi Lyns

AGM (Annual General Meeting)

You take the first turn off as you come off the bridge once your round the corner you cannot miss the building infact you come out in front of it but you need to take your right as you go round the roundabout. You can't possibly get lost but you know my no if there's any probs give me a call.

would this work

Private Sub PrintScript_Click()
On Error GoTo Err_PrintScript_Click

DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord
Me.ReportTitle = "Pharmacy Copy"
DoCmd.OpenReport "ART", acViewNormal

Me.ReportTitle = "Case Notes Copy"
DoCmd.OpenReport "ART", acViewNormal

Exit_PrintScript_Click:
Exit Sub

Err_PrintScript_Click:
Msgbox Err.Description
Resume Exit_PrintScript_Click

End Sub

ok babe...ill see you at 5 tmo! im sure ill not get lost!.....well kinda sure:p

Did you say that you dont have a computer at home??? if so instead of coming back to mine in Edinburgh i could just bring a lap top if you want... it has everything on it anyway! let me know!

Whatever is easiest for you I don't mind. I'm getting a pc at home soon just deciding on a few at the moment. Let me know what you want to do because If we decide on Edinburgh I thought I'd bring you my VB book but I won't have to bother if you're coming to me but remember I don't live in Dunfermline but I am nearby.
