Dear All,
I am in the process of creating a database which contains all infomation about books. I have all the data in the database already. I have seen a database on this forum called cool search tool which when you type in the serach it narrows the table down and displays what you click on as a form below the table. I would like to do this but do not have a clue how. The four fields that I wish to search on when the user types are brochure name, also known as, brochure code, and status. Please help me. Im a beginner so only really have a basic knowledge. however I do know where everything on access 2003 is.

Welcome to the forum!

Since you already have a copy of something you like and sounds like it will fit your needs -- it appears you might just have a problem with the analysis.

The links below might help you familiarize yourself a little better for you to analyze the tool you have and apply it to your current dilemma. And most importantly, for complete understanding.

Thanks for the links DK. You seem like a very expereinced user in MS ACCESS, and I greatly appreciate your advice.
What I want is to have a search box with a reset button on the side. Below this, I want a list box which details the four fields I mentioned in my first post, along with all the information about the brochures. I want to be able to enter part of a brochures title into the search bar and as I am typing it, I want the list box to narrow the master table down. Then below the table I want their to be a form. How can I do this? Please help me as it is quite urgent.

You seem like a very expereinced user in MS ACCESS ...

Not hardly! Truthfully, I don't have the time to do the project for you or to type many lines attempting to instruct; hence the links. Aside from this, if I do the work for you and you don't understand it - then how do you maintain it?

I understand the need for urgency (what isn't an emergency these days?), I am just not in a position to provide the detailed help you need or can do the project for you. Perhaps someone else who has this sort of time?
