Program Error - report wizard

I cannot use the report wizard function without getting the following error:

Program Error: MSACESS.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.

I did see another thread here where the person created a new database and imported all the items and that fixed it, but this is happening in ALL databases, old and new. I've tried doing the above, doesn't work; I've tried reinstalling Access, still doesn't work.

I am using Access 97 on Windows 2000. I have Office 2000 on my pc except for Access. This was never a problem until recently.

You don't realize how you rely on something like that to at least get a report started until you have to do it all manually!

Reload Office

That'd be my suggestion. Make sure you select all of the options under MS Access.

I agree, but first download the MDAC Utility Component Checker from Microsoft and run it against your system. It will test your dll's, odbc drivers, etc. I had a remote customer who couldn't run any of my MS Access 2000 databases without a 429 error. I finally had her run the Component Checker and found out all her ADO dll's were corrupted. It's free. That might isolate what your problem is. But make sure you completely remove office including those shared files for your dll's before you reload it (see second hyperlink.
