Programmatically mimic Shift Key

Can anyone tell me how I might programmatically mimic the user putting their finger on the shift key?

Hmm sendkeys might work but it wouldn't simulate holding the key down.

i just tested this, and it seems like the AUTOEXPAND property under the DATA tab changes this. if it is off, typing does not autosearch. if it is on, it does work. go ahead and check that out and see if it works
