I have a possible upcoming project where the managers of a few groups want to have a tool that shows the projects that each of the people in their group are working on and everything in a queue of upcoming projects.
What they want is to show their bosses that their time is filled and that any extra projects will mean that current projects will have to be put on the back burner or drop down in priority.
I’m thinking that we could use and access file on the network to get each of the employees to enter their projects and have a section where the managers can set a priority level to them; showing all projects that are being worked on and all projects currently in the queue.
So if the big-wigs want to push something up from the queue, or change a priority of any current project in the works, the other projects will get placed in their appropriate order after the any such changes have been made.
Anyway… I have a general idea of how to go about doing this, but I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel if someone has already done something like this and might want to share their work. If so, I would greatly appreciate any such examples if there are any to be had.
