Query not appearing in Word XP merge

I have recently compiled a small database in Access 2000 that works fine with word 2000 when accessing queries etc for mail merging.

I had to upgrade the database to XP so I rewrote it (there's not much to it)

When merging all my queries show apart from any with the line -

Between [Beginning Date] And [Ending Date]

which do not actually show up as a query within word xp - like as if they do not exist.

Does anyone know why this could be ?

The answer

I found the answer to this problem - Microsoft Knowledge Article - 320476, it's a DDE problem that render some queries invisible to Word 2002 and is simple to fix.

All you do is open 'Tools' then 'Options' and click 'Confirm conversion at Open' (in word 2002) and then the doc asks you for the data source and you select 'MS Access Databases via DDE (*.mdb, *.mde).

Hope this helps someone ...

Busterthedog,

Thanks for the information. Do you still get a box titled 'Choose Table' which lists some of the queries (the ones without form specific criteria). I do, and then by pressing cancel, the box disapears and the mail merge works beautifully. Have you discovered a way to prevent that box appearing?

Anna,

Yes, I do still get the box - Which is what I want to be honest, It was just that when that box appeared I did not get all the tables & Queries appearing for me to /mess' with until the Microsoft 'fix'
