Record Locked error

How can I get rid of "Could not update, record locked" error?

My DB is split into be and fe and record lock is set to No and shared is set to yes.

Please help, I tried to find solution online and in the previous posts but in vain.

In a split db, rec lock should be rare, BUT if you keep getting this, maybe you should only allow record editing by way of unbound form.
User cannot edit records directly in the table, instead, they must click an 'edit' button,
this runs a query to copy the record to an local table, so the user can make changes with no record locking.
When the user is finished, click a Save button to run an update query to set all fields back to the master table using the key.

no locks, no multi user interference.

Is the Back End on a shared drive and a copy of the Front End on each user's PC?
