I created replication through Access, but when one of the users try to update a record he was getting the message Record deleted. So i search the internet and found that the solution of this error message was to Compact and Repair the database. When i did that i lost the replication, and now i can't create it back because there records on the database and i am getting an error message.

Any suggestions how to recover the database? By the way is the master database not one of the replicas.

Is replication causes these kinds of malfunctions?

Replication

The Master is one of the replicas, and if you synchronized it, you can throw
the bad replica and make a new one.

Why do you use replication? If no spacial reason - drop it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, if there isn't a good reason to use it, it is just one more thing to have potentially go wrong. But, there are good reasons to use it and I used it for a major database that was located in Portland, Oregon but we had staff in Sacramento, California that had to have the same database. I didn't have SQL Server available to me, so using Access replication was a good thing as I could set up a schedule to synch (using Microsoft Replication Manager 4.0 -available as part of Office 2000 Developer Edition) and we didn't have a real fast connection between offices. So replication instead of a live connection was the only way I could make it work, somewhat efficiently.

Did you have unsynched data in the replica that has gone bad? If so, you're probalby out of luck as far as getting it back.

dealwi8me:
if the non replica is accessible you can locate the new data and insert it with queties into a new replica that you create from the Master.
And if you want to learn more about replication look at:

I must have the same database in different cities and the offices can't be live connected to the main server so i thought replication was a good idea in order to update the databases.

I'm just worried about replication making access database more vulnerable, specially when each database has more than one user at the same time.

Replication

Yes it is (more vulnerable) and it needs special-care BUT if you'll take proper steps it can work. One of the crucial is make at list two more replicas and put them on the server and synch them (I assume you have Replication Manager)and compact & repair periodically.
:)
