I know this has been covered in many instances before and am sorry to bring it up again.

I understand the thought of linking an image and all that jazz, but I find that Access is limited in it's functionality in that the path has to be hard coded rather than relative.

I wish to have images in the same folder as the access db, but in sub structures. This is designed so that anyone who eventually owns this db may enter their company's information and it will appear in the proper areas.

Also to reduce the size of the bd, the images are linked and only take up space when they are used.

The problem is that the development environment and the production environment are going to be MUCH different and I am hoping that you can link relative to the db's folder.

Thank

I have addressed this kind of problem by having a table that holds constant information, e.g. Company name, Address etc, and including a field for the installed directory. You can then concatenate this with the subdirectory name to get the full path.

ANSWER:

use:

Dim mypic As String
mypic = txtLogo.Value
imgMyPicture.Picture = CurrentProject.Path & "\images\" & mypic

Add this code to the on_current event for a form,

Add this code to the detail_format for a report.

:rolleyes:
