Remove layout. Not all was working for me

I have gone to layout\remove layout and for the most part it works. But now and then I have labels that stick to the field. Not always just a couple here and there that make it impossible to work with an entire column of.

If I understand you correctly, Your concern is that the labels and fields stay connected.
I do not know of any way to stop this.
Align and size will work on either alone.

My correction for the problem was to delete the label, copy and paste a different label, which gives me no connection.

You would think Microsoft had a better solution for the problem.

Actually you did. My cure for the issue is nothing more than a Band-Aid.
