Report combo source - numbers only (again!)

I have a sub-report which pulls data from a query. I have one combo box source which refuses to display the value, onlythe numerical reference.

When I run the query within query builder it displays the text but in the report it only displays the numerical value.

The reports field is bound to column 1 but I still can't get it to display the text. Am I missing something obvious?

Tony, thanks. Smashing videos by the way, solved another minor annoyance I had but not this one I'm afraid.

It must be relationships. I'm having a similar problem with a form to filter a report as well.

If I had any hair left I would be tearing it out about now.

Hmm, may as simple as it gets. I deleted a few fields, including the offending ones and then added them again. This time they worked.

I had originally creaed the report using the wizard and then modified it. Not sure why it didn't work until I added the same field again.
