Required type library or wizard is not a VBA project

I am trying to copy and .mde file along with the .mdb in my laptop from the office server. When I try to open the database I get the message "Required type library or wizard is not a VBA project". Wherever I click on the start up form I get this message. I don't think that it is a matter of operating system or office version since I have tried various combinations (Win200-office 2000, WinXP-officeXP, WinXP-Office2000).Any ideas???
