I had a message from a user who asked about his inability to have attachments to his posts, I am not aware of any restrictions, so am asking the community at large, is there some setting/privilege that prevents a user who has >40 posts from adding an attachment to his post(s)?
Perhaps I am missing a link to such info on the forum....

Nor am I aware of any limitations.

What was nature of inability? No file of any type or size?

I don't know anything specific - just that he did not have an option to have attachments. He did say he had been in a thread posting and receiving posts. The other person could and did use attachments, but apparently he could not. Between and the other person they thought there must be a setting. As above, I said I wasn't aware of such a setting. And that's what triggered this thread.

Jon has commented that some of his security measures are occasionally causing the "Oops" problem. Does this person get an "Oops" or some other indicator?

I believe there is a restriction in PMs (conversations). IIRC, attachments can only be sent by VIPs and mods

Thanks for comments. I responded to the person:

After talking with a few members, 2 things have emerged.
1: There is no attachment facility in the chats/private messages generally.
2: There have been adjustments to security to suppress/correct an "OOOps message/intermittent problem" that may have affected some forum features
.

I have solved the Oops problem, unless anyone can show me otherwise. If so, Oops!

Hey Jon, an honor to write to you, I'm the OOPS guy 😂
1) Thanks for this forum, Kudos to the moderators and the community, I am learning so much from all of you guys.
2) I truly can't send any form of attachment thou my mentor (@arnelgp ) can, I understand now that only VIP's can do it and it seems fair to me, I truly understand the risks.

Again thanks for this awesome family and for yours and the other VIP's / Moderators / Mentors time, it is really appreciated, from the rest of us mortals trying to learn.

Maurice.

No worries Arnel all is OK, I've been given a week more to present the proof, and that help me, I found more errors on my code and I am working on them, I will resubmit to you once I get them ready, Thanks for your commitment to Help, you are a real asset to this forum and a great Mentor.

Ok. If it is infrequent, I cannot diagnose it. It could be due to plugins like uBlock Origin, other plugins, ISP issues and so on.

I've seen no problems recently. Things seem to be working pretty good now for me.
