I have an employee table which has an employeeID field, employee name, and reportToID. The table is self related where reportToID = EmployeeID. I am able to get out data that lists the employees and their direct supervisors sorted by reportsToID. I need to list the records in the recordset in the form of an organizational chart such as the following:
Reports To----------Employee Name
Sybille Sauerbrun---Melissa Cassity
Melissa Cassity-----Carol Buman
Melissa Cassity-----Nedra Gordon
Melissa Cassity-----Debbie Jones
Sybille Sauerbrun---Angela Bradshaw
Angela Bradshaw-----Chris Epperly
Angela Bradshaw-----Carolyn Klein
Kelly Vrescek-------Rebecca Dalglish
Rebecca Dalglish----Brenda Fisher
Then of course comes breakpoints where duplicate information is hidden so the report looks like:
Sybille Saurbrun
--Melissa Cassity
----Carol Buman
----Nedra Gordon
----Debbie Jones
--Angela Bradshaw
----Chris Epperly
----Carolyn Klein
Kelly Vrescek
--Rebecca Dalglish
----Brenda Fisher
Has anyone else managed to sort their data in this manner?
Thanks, Roni
