row src vs row output

title probably doesnt' make any sence at all, but here goes.

i have a combo box that needs to draw its options from a table tblEAFSCS. that's no problem. but the record it needs to affec tneeds to be the EAFSC column from tblPERSONNEL.


does this make sence?

i can get the combo box to display just fine, but i can't figure out how to have its src in 1 field and the data its affecting in another.

its probably a simple answer yet it still eludes me.

?? I dont really get your point.

In the combo box you have a rowsource something like:

Select * from tblEAFSCS

Then put into the control source

EAFS (from the tblPersonel, to which your form probably is bound)

And presto your done?! right?! I think ... Uhm.... Check that anyway..

oh, alright. i fixed it.. i just remade the form using wizard b/c apparently i wasn't bound to the tblPERSONNEL. for future reference how would i bind it to that tbl upon creation from scratch?

On form level enter table/query name in the property: Record Source

Once the form is bound, for controls in the property: Control source

Enter respective names or pick from the combo box.
